Experimental and Numerical Study of Pressure Drop Characteristics of Soybean Grain under Vertical Pressure

چکیده

The vertical pressure lead to increased airflow resistance through the grain bulk, which affected efficiency of ventilation and drying. effects pressures at 50, 150, 250 kPa on drop characteristics soybeans were studied using experiment numerical simulation. random packing different compression states for soybean packed beds generated by Discrete Element Method (DEM). (DEM) Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) coupled investigate radial velocity bulk. simulation results showed that porosity had an oscillating distribution, average dimensionless was consistent with distribution trend porosity. increase in causes a decrease local velocity. PathFinder code used as supplementary method calculate pore path characterization parameters, coefficient term Forchheimer equation determined. measured mainly occurred within two hours after loading. pressure, being 36%, 57%, 92% higher than uncompressed state (0 kPa). calculated DEM-CFD under close agreement experimental results, relative difference found be less 10%. These provide guidance estimating depths.
